How to use your iPhone to see the distance you walk, hike, or run
With your iPhone you can see how far you’ve traveled on foot during a day using the /”Walking Running Distance/” feature built into the Health app. This works even if you didn’t start an Apple Watch workout, and in fact doesn’t require you to own or wear an Apple Watch at all—iPhone can do this all on its own.
I like to use this if I went on a hike or walk but forgot to start a workout. It’s interesting to see how far I’ve traveled on a particular day, or during a particular event like a camp out, music festival, or other trip.
